“Their perception is your reality” – Is this true?
Well.. it turns out to be not.
“Their perception is their reality” – This is true.
What we think, speak and do becomes the reality of the other person at that moment. This can stay, change depending on your behaviors. This perception of you is not permanent and situational. Hence building the right perception in people about you is a sustained and continuous effort.
Next question is – Can perception be changed?
It again turns out as YES!
PERCEPTION can be changed through AUTHENTICITY.
Next question: What is Authenticity?
When we say what we do and do what we say, it is authentic, that’s it, as simple as that – we do not need huge definitions from management for authenticity.
When we are authentic, perceptions do change.
Next question: How do I appear Authentic?
When we say what we do and do what we say CONSISTENTLY, we appear authentic. So it turns out that ‘consistency is the input for authenticity’.
Finally, for all of us to build the right perception, we need to be authentic and to be authentic, we need to be consistent’
Cheers!
